Two months after Matt Cavallo was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, his wife, Jocelyn, brought home Teddy, a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier puppy. Matt made him a promise: no matter what happened, Teddy would get his walk.
The Dog Story is what that promise became, a memoir about marriage, fatherhood, illness, loss, and the ordinary work of building a life together. In Matt’s words, it is “not a book about being sick.”
